I'm currently trying to allow WebTVs to use Gemini, and one major limitation is that it only supports ASCII and a subset of Windows-1252. I'm can use Twemoji in my proxy to substitute emoji, and Unifont for other things in the basic multilingual plane. How much stuff would that miss? For me, Windows 2000 is retro but wind XP is not. Also any mac using PowerPC or m68k is retro to me. I'm enjoying the experience, so thank you. I've run into an issue (feature?), and wonder how you all dealt with it: Ephemerality. There is content on the fedi/smol web that could be lost forever. On the www, there's quite a bit of redundancy. If I can't find the article/story I'm looking for on one site, a quick search reveals multiple places that it's been backed up.
