Limerick Strand Hotel announces partnership with Irish charity

The Limerick Strand Hotel is the first hotel in Limerick city to
partner with Irish charity, Hometree. This collaboration is a testament
to the hotel's dedication to environmental sustainability and
supporting Irish biodiversity.

Hometree, founded in 2014, has since planted over 150,000 native trees
such as Scots pine, willow, and alder. The charity encourages public
involvement in enhancing Ireland's habitats and biodiversity through
regenerating land, conserving and restoring permanent woodlands.

"We're thrilled to amplify our sustainability endeavours with our
latest partnership with Hometree. For every conference of over 100
attendees and each wedding, a native tree will be planted, reinforcing
our commitment to environmental responsibility. We are also happy to
provide tips for anyone eager to host a more sustainable event," said
Sustainability Manager, Kate Wieczorkiewicz.

The hotel team is proud to unveil the new Green Meetings and Green
Weddings initiatives, offering a multitude of ideas for hosting
greener, more sustainable events. Using the hotel’s projectors or
screens for hosting paperless meetings, having both the wedding
ceremony and reception on-site to reduce travel-related carbon
emissions, or using the hotel’s candelabra and cherry blossom
decorations to minimize waste.

Hotel guests can also donate to Hometree via QR codes displayed
throughout the hotel or the website, joining them in their mission to
make a positive impact on Irish woodlands.

The Limerick Strand Hotel will keep striving to set an example in the
hospitality industry and is proud to be part of the solution. Their
commitment has been recently recognized by Gold in Green
