# New Year, Same Me

It's been a while since I've written anything for my gemlog. I had stuff going on irl but also not a lot to say in general. I wanted to at least post _something_ to commemorate the new year, so this is it.

I've thought a lot about new years resolutions. I was thinking of things I wanted to accomplish or strive towards, but anything I thought to make my official resolution was likely carried over from 2022. This isn't to say that I didn't accomplish what I wanted in 2022, it's just that the big picture goals I'm working towards are slow going and I've been learning to practice patience with myself in achieving them. 

Coming back to a new years resolution though, I thought instead I'd set quarterly resolutions. With these quarterly resolutions I'm hoping to focus on achieving non-life-changing things that I think would enrich my life. Every quarter I can re-evaluate these goals and either stick to them for another quarter or make changes. The three month scale works well with how I like to plan and work, so I'm excited to try this out.

This quarter, all my goals are writing based. I've got like 3 different writing projects going and they're all set to start and end within the quarter, which is nice. It will be a challenge completing them as I embark on a new career and overall life, but I enjoy writing and I believe in these projects enough to be excited for the challenge.

Anyway, this is going to be a short post because I still don't have much to say. Hope y'all are having a wonderful new year :)
