The closest I've come to ska is listening to Less than Jake a few times, before realising the songs where the 'punk' was dialled up further than the 'ska'. Off I went in that direction, never returning to the ska side. Having a reason to sit down and listen to The Specials was a good exercise, but it hasn't convinced me to dig more in to ska. Lyrically it feels pretty dated and musically, the best elements are borrowed from elsewhere and assembled in a way that I don't really care for. 

It was fun to hear "Little Bitch" and recognise it having been reused in The Dandy Warhol's "Bohemian like you", but by that point I was counting down the tracks to the end of the album.
