The best moments on this brought to mind That Thing You Do by Adam Schlesinger. Which probably means that they were both trying for the same, retro-poppy sound of a previous era. I'm aware of this album's reputation, but like with yesterday's Mudhoney album, it failed to grab me other than for a few moments.

The cover art works well as ASCII though. That hasn't happened very much so far. I check for every album.
