# Album #196: Def Leppard - Hysteria By Def Leppard (2004) => https://1001albumsgenerator.com/albums/1ja2qzCrh6bZykcojbZs82/hysteria Hysteria on 1001albumsgenerator Commando is an excellent film. Of all the many things to praise about it, the closing song 'We Fight for Love' by Power Station is one of those excellent moments where the soundtrack kicks in and perfectly accentuates the feeling on screen. Don't get me wrong, it's a high budget dumb action film and the sort of song that doesn't really stand alone well, but they match *perfectly*. Which always made me wonder: who WERE Power Station? I never went and looked it up until now. The answer is interesting, but also totally irrelevant¹ It matters less to me now though. Track 1 of this album has everything We Fight for Love has, and more. And it's just the start of the album! There's 11 more tracks of this! When I was at my peak of In To Music, I was always focused on *new*, so rarely went back and found what I liked from the past. The exceptions are ones that were too big to ignore, like Bowie or The Beatles or Iron Maiden. Somehow Def Leppard were I guess too recent, too small, or too *something*. What an oversight though. Way back when I listened to British Steel by Judas Priest (⭐⭐), I was put off by how obvious a bid for a mainstream pop audience it was. Hysteria feels like it's doing exactly the same, but pulling it off. Pour Some Sugar On Me is pure 80s anthemic rock, but it's catchy, infectious, excellent. British Steel never pulled that off. My only criticism is that it could be a little shorter. Let's drop the mildly out of place Gods of War and trim the album down to just under an hour perhaps. But I can live with it too. ¹ It's actually a super group! Now I'm excited to listen to their album. It should follow on from this perfectly: => https://duranduran.fandom.com/wiki/Power_Station # Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ______ => / 🏡 Home => ./ 📻 More albums => /about.gmi 🙋 About this project
