# Album #234: Fatboy Slim - You've come a long way baby By Fatboy Slim (1998) => https://1001albumsgenerator.com/albums/2ELLu16F9TTREQuU4OuAnN/youve-come-a-long-way-baby You've come a long way baby on 1001albumsgenerator I expected to resent this, given how thoroughly it saturated the UK when it came out. It wasn't a chore though. It's still fun. No-one will, but if you looked at my star ratings, you'd notice that I've rated this higher than Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92'. That's a hard stance to take, but it's the one I've taken so I'll blindly defend it: => /gemlog/2023-02-05-166-selected-ambient-works-85-92.gmi Aphex Twin has done better than Selected Ambient works 1. In isolation it's a fine, but there's much better in the rest of Aphex Twin's discography. Fatboy Slim peaks here. There's not going to be any other Fatboy Slim in the remaining 767 albums. Nor should there be. As a self contained album, in style I don't really care for, it keeps things interesting enough to make it through. 'Ambient Works' made me want to finish up so I could go and listen to 'Richard D. James Album' or 'I Care Because You Do' or 'Drukqs' or or or... Also luckily ⭐⭐⭐ doesn't mean it's better than a ⭐⭐. The stars are about how much I think an album belongs on this ridiculous list of 1001 albums people must hear. The only real reason for bringing it up is because I didn't have anything interesting to write about Fatboy Slim. # Rating ⭐⭐⭐ ______ => / 🏡 Home => ./ 📻 More albums => /about.gmi 🙋 About this project
