Leaving the house for no reason

2021-01-21

My parents live in a small village, in a small-ish house (it's at least a 100 years old, but nicely renovated and cozy). Back when I lived with them, I rarely left the house for no reason, just to take a walk. When I did, it was with a particular purpose - go to school, visit friends, go running or cycling.

When I moved to the City I discovered that I like walking around aimlessly. I did it mostly on my way from work or school. I started to take some walks around the place I lived. However I still didn't go out _that_ much.

Until I moved to a new apartment in a nicer part of the city, more downtown. I wasn't sure I liked this place that much at first, but I've quickly fell in love and now I never want to live anywhere else. I love the City as it is, but this part is on whole other level.

And so now I'm going out more often. Sometimes I'll get coffee, sometimes I'll just climb the hill (one of several) to enjoy a view (one of _many_). Or walk by the river. Or visit the nearby park. Or (once the pandemic is over) go check-out what's what at the mall (I know that I'm not a teen-ager in the 90's or something, but I just cant help myself). Not to mention the amazing bike rides I can take here (that's a story for another time).

I enjoy leaving the house for no reason.
