The darndest things happen, I just asked my wife if we have AAA batteries left and we didn't (on a Sunday, grrr) since my keyboard was not working and I thought the batteries were spent. She suggested to try a battery from another device that might have some charge left. But then it turned out the reason why the keyboard was not getting all characters was a slow network connection to the SSH host I was on.

Oh boy, my wifi went out in the exact moment when I signed up for a gitlab site, now I don't know if the account was created or not, it says username is taken, grrr
