What to bring on holidays? Something like Race for the Galaxy?

I love RftG. But my favorite two-player card game is Radlands. No expansions needed. (Go get the higher quality version with plastic cards and chips. The deluxe version with playmats is overkill, though.) – @MadMoses@dice.camp

Race ftG is excellent. We also like to take card games on trips, especially as we travel light (usually by bicycle). Some favourites: Hanabi, Salt Sea &Paper, Die Crew, Knaster, Port Royal. – @florik@rollenspiel.social

when we do our yearly vacation, we bring Ticket to Ride and Terraforming Mars. – @randomwizard@vivaldi.net

One trip I took with someone else I brought Onirim. But it’s a li’l too easy for a coop puzzler. Other times I’ve brought Snorkels, Caylus 1289, Carcassonne South Seas, Codenames Duet or The Great Dalmuti. Most recent trip I was on we just had normal playing cards and sixsiders. – @Sandra@idiomdrottning.org

Sandra also says she likes ninety nine best for three players and linked to the game description in the list of David Parlett's Original Card Games. There are so many!

For two, my fave card games are probably Color Gin or Haggis.
