Radio update available for Denso CP1.5 systems! |

|
|
|
TSB 15-305-22R was updated today for a description of Update #4 for |
|
|
|

Turn on your car, and navigate to the home screen of the radio. Find and |
|
|
|
open the "Settings" app (gear icon). On the first tab ("General"), |
|
|
|
scroll down to "System Information." This will display the software |
|
|
|
version your radio is currently running. |

Symptoms Addressed By Update #4: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* System: * Reset CID screen (CCU) repeatedly resets every 3 minutes. * |
|
|
|
CarPlay: * **Wireless conenction drops while using wireless CarPlay due |
|
|
|
to external signal interference from surrounding facilities etc.** (only |
|
|
|
applicable to HIGH and MID trim) * **During CarPlay handsfree call |
|
|
|
receiving party is not able to hear the caller as the microphone data is |
|
|
|
muted** * Android Auto * When wireless AndroidAuto connection failed, |
|
|
|
the same connection failure error was displayed in all cases. Since it |
|
|
|
was difficult to understand how to deal with the problem, the connection |
|
|
|
failure error was divided into several phases. * 1st step: Bluetooth |
|
|
|
connection phase * 2nd step: Confirmation phase of Wi-Fi connection |
|
|
|
information * 3rd step: Wi-Fi connection and Android Auto connection |
|
|
|
phase * Failure in the 1st step: Various error messages are displayed |
|
|
|
to try the user to redo the connection procedure. * Failure in the 2nd |
|
|
|
step: When an error occurs, an automatic retry is performed by internal |
|
|
|
processing, and the screen indicates that a retry is in progress. * |
|
|
|
Failure in the 3rd step: The timer for determining failure is too long, |
|
|
|
so it is changed from 130 seconds to 45 seconds to shorten the time |
|
|
|
until the error message is displayed. (only applicable to HIGH and MID |
|
|
|
trim) * When the USB cable is disconnected while using Android Auto |
|
|
|
with wired connection (USB connection), automatic switching connection |
|
|
|
to wireless Android Auto connection may fail. (only applicable to HIGH |

the top right corner of the CID screen may still indicate a connected |

|

state. Bluetooth connection may not be available and the pairing Delete |
|
|

may not work. (only applicable to HIGH and MID trim) * Audio * After |
|
|
|
ignition on, the audio may not return to the audio that was playing at |
|
|
|
the previously played audio. * Audio sound may not sound immediately |
|
|
|
after ignition on. * On iPhone audio with iOS 16.4 or later the song |
|
|
|
list disappears when a song in the playing playlist is selected. (only |
|
|
|
applicable to HIGH and MID trim) * After ignition on it may take |
|
|
|
approximately 16 seconds for iPod audio audio to play. (only applicable |
|
|
|
to HIGH and MID trim) * Display * The registered mobile device |
|
|
|
information is not displayed on the Manage Devices screen. (This occurs |
|
|
|
when the name or device ID of a mobile device contains a character code |
|
|
|

order of 1.First Name and 2.Family Name in the phone book is set to |
|
|

become unavailable following repeated page scrolling up and down of the |

ValetMode icon. However, in some cases they are placed at the top (upper |

CID screen display may become distorted. (only applicable to HIGH and |

update added the SXM360 functionality, the SXM playback screen may |

|
traffic and other factors is not displayed at the top of the navigation |

destination. Your Information & Privacy screen is displayed when the |

navigation system is booting for the first time and you have not |

system by voice recognition commands, launch the navigation screen. |

destination set, the estimated time of arrival may be interrupted |

languages (Canadian French, European French, Slovak, and Malay) to mean |
|

“Release the brake” instead of “Depress the brake". * Among the error |
|
|
|
messages in case of CarPlay connection failure, there was a screen that |
|
|
|
corresponded only to English. Support translations for languages other |
|
|
|
than English. * Performance * After ignition on, screen operation may |
|
|
|
be slow when using CarPlay or other functions without once starting Map. |
|
|
|
(only applicable to HIGH trim) * New Functions and Enhancements included |
|
|
|
in Update #4: * The certificate of the data distribution server for the |
|
|
|
map update service by MapOTA (MOTA) will be changed from 2025, and the |
|
|
|
previous server certificate will no longer be able to connect. |

|
|mark of a call I had to switch away and back to CarPlay for the other |
|
|
|
|person to hear me. Is this the same issue? Would be great if it is as |

|it is frustrating. |

|I just got it done today and will report back tomorrow! First |
|
|

|tech botched the update so they had to call in a Master Tech or |
|
|
|
|Lead or someone who was able to get it done. Dropped the car off |
|
|

|at 11AM and finally picked it up by 5:30PM. It will all be worth |
|
|
|
|if it resolves the fucking CarPlay issue. |

| Buying a brand new car and discovering this issue was |
|
|

|devastating and it's insane most people will just live with it or |
|
|
|
|crash their cars fiddling with their phones toggling |
|
|
|
|CarPlay/Speaker ON/OFF as a workaround. Tested this out with |
|
|
|
|two phones today iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 13 - not a single |
|
|
|
|problem no muting/disconnects. My wife got pissed off at me so |
|
|
|
|she hung up after about 15 minutes in. So fucking relieved this |
|
|
|
|is finally fixed!!! |

|You just need to give them an issue for them to update it over |
|
|
|
|warranty, don't need a ton of details. Tell them it's laggy, or |
|
|
|
|if you want to specifically target something this update |
|
|

|addresses, tell them you have issues with people not hearing you |
|
|
|
|when using Carplay. If you're on android then just say your |
|
|
|
|wife/husband has iPhone and it's a problem when they drive. |
|
|
|
|You don't need to go crazy here, they just need a simple reason |
|
|
|
|that a customer is having a problem. This way they can file it |
|
|
|
|as warranty and get paid for their time from Subaru. |
|

|available anytime soon. OTA is usually a few months behind so |

|

|forester ('25+) and new WRX ('24+) and outbacks (and |
|
|

|presumably Ascents) '25 and newer require a dealer scan |
|

|tool and SSM5 to run the update. |

|the DCM is up to date when updating the CCU...... Thankfully they were |

|If you’re on a Windows PC, use Notepad to paste the text instead of |
|
|
|
|Word. It automatically removes the formatting. Also, you can try |
|
|
|
|pasting with Ctrl+Shift+V which attempts to paste without formatting, |

|I was told today by the dealer that my 24 CTW with 800 miles on it |
|
|
|
|“running version F91WMM053-880” is not part of the new update that you |
|
|
|
|posted but since I am experiencing the same issues they will do a “ |
|
|
|
|Courtesy update” for me. They also told me that updates are only |
|
|
|
|covered for 3/36 even if you bought the Subaru Gold warranty |
|
|

|Your dealer is very silly, Subaru is paying us to do updates during |
|
|
|
|the PDI now, lol. F91 is one version old. Though they are also |
|
|
|
|incorrect about SAS coverage, if you have a $100 deductible it might |
|
|
|
|be more expensive to process the claim through SAS than whatever they |
|
|
|
|charge to do an update. |

|Yeah, that's a technically correct way to do it. From a legalese |
|
|
|
|standpoint, it means they weren't able to duplicate the concern |
|
|
|
|but performed a likely repair anyway. This really only matters if |
|
|
|
|it becomes a "lemon law" car, where in the instance of "I've |
|
|
|
