|That was like a hallmark of the show. I still remember
|when Sylar and the other guy had this huge build up to
|their showdown and all we saw was one of the characters
|eye peeking through the door and a reflection off of it.
|I was done with the show after that. If you don't have
|the budget to give us the payoff it's not worth it. It'd
|be like watching The Boys and the whole time Butcher and
|Soldier Boy are fighting Homelander we just see MM
|watching in the corner and making faces.

|Episodes of comedy shows that made me cry: 5 - "Lois's Birthday"
|(The slow motion shots of the guys fighting clowns while Lois
|looks on and smiles is hilarious, but also it's a really nice
|moment) 4 - "And Maggie Makes Three" (Do it for her) 3 - The end
|of the Good Place (You knew it was coming, but that didn't make it
|any easier) 2 - My Screw Up (JD asks Dr Cox, "Where do you think

|
|Fun fact, and spoilers, about that episode: The episode starts
|with JD giving the fact that "1 in 3 patients that are admitted to
|the ICU die". It then introduces us to the 3 patients we'll be
|following. Here's the spoilers: the episode ends with all 3
|patients dying. You're presented with a stat and then 30 minutes
|later you are presented with the reality that everyone can still
|die. The problem is, the Network hated this. They begged Bill
|Lawrence to rewrite the episode so that only one of them died. He
|refused, which is why we have the amazing episode that we do.

|The entire Mad TV cast was amazing. So many talented people went
|through that show. Many of them got rejected by SNL and during the

|u/cannagetsomelove - 1 month
|
|I preferred Mad TV because I was a kid and the humor appealed to

|u/Canvaverbalist - 1 month
|
|The right answer is "I can tell you the personal differences between
|the different persons I've dated, regardless of their skin colour,
|but I cannot tell you on a bigger scale because I'm not a
|sociologist." Just because you dated Chanelle and she really liked
|pasta while Lindsay really didn't like it doesn't mean that the
|difference between dating a black girl and a white girl is how much
|they like pasta. "I'll tell you what, black girl takes a lot of time
|to get ready to go somewhere" no mfer *Aaliyah* took a lot of time
|to get ready compared to Cindy, that's all. Once you've dated 100s
|of black women and 100s white women then yeah maybe you can write a
|paper about the average differences and draw some vague conclusions
|but even then. But that's less fun I guess.

|
|well one difference is that he probably doesn't get these types of
|questions when he's with a black woman
|u/MyStationIsAbandoned - 1 month
|
|true. the main differences is how everyone outside the relationship
|treats. I've noticed both white and black women are less nice to me if
|they *think* the white girl i'm with is my girlfriend (I'm a black
|guy). Like, it's just a standard. Only older women who are like maybe
|50+ though. Like, when i've dated white girls and just hung out with
|white female friends or classmates. When i'm with a black girl,
|there's no noticeable difference in how I'm treated by that group of
|people. family interactions are also more annoying to deal with.
|That's why I never get upset when white people say they prefer to date
|other white people, a lot of times, you just don't want to deal with
|that grief unless you just happen to meet someone maybe. But when on a
|dating app, you're just not going to go looking for something with
|extra complications. Like, if I were looking for something serious and
|forever...I dunno...I'm probably stubborn enough to handle/deal with
|the older women in my family being negative, but it would definitely
|be less of a hassle to find a black woman I match with the most.
|u/drinkandreddit - 1 month

|Thanks for the perspective.
|u/Practical_Pianist_92 - 1 month
|
|For me it's sad I got those accusations even before I started
|dating. And the sad part is I continued to get it even when the
|majority of the girls I've dated were black, brought home a couple
|and that changed nothing. The moment I dated 1 white girl (and
|I've only dated 1 in my life) I got the, "I knew it!!!" At that
|point I gave up and am now engaged to a south asian who is
|practically the same complexion as my mom and sister. And that
|same mom and sister still don't change their tune. So F it, date
|whoever you want.
|u/wrongplug - 1 month

|Preach! As a white guy I think nothing of dating a black girl.
|It’s how other people treat us that’s really messed up. It’s always

|Exactly I've been with both black girls and white girls. I dated both

|
|Yeah, the skit is off-putting, but there's a whole lot of
|pearl clutching going on over it.
|u/scpclr5tz - 1 month
|
|There’s also the whole part of how they didn’t explain to the
|parents what the skit would be about. IIRC, Tiffany was a
|family friend and had the girl under the assumption that she
|would be babysitting her/taking her under her wing while she
|was doing acting stuff or something. Both the girl in the
|video and her mom discussed being uncomfortable with it. When
|this came to light there was a good article that entailed all
|the background details better than I can scrape up off the top
|of my head.
|u/globglogabgalabyeast - 1 month
|
|The very production of those skits necessitates child
|exploitation. They’re intentionally putting a child in
|sexually suggestive situations as an explicit object of sexual
|desire. From the descriptions of the censored video, the child
|is in underwear in one and has no shirt on in the other, and
|is made to spray lotion on a grown man. This is so far beyond
|“just an unfunny skit” And the skits can really be summarized
|as just “ha ha, child abuse”. I can give a pass to dark humor
|that is actually clever or has a message, but this has none of
|that, is basically just laughing at abuse, and actually
|involves a real child
|u/Cosmocade - 1 month
|
|It's a kid rolling around being a kid. It's not abuse just
|because it's set up to be creepy. My family's videos of

|Here's a little secret, most good stand-up bits are well practiced.
|Sure, a good comedian will mix and match the set, often customizing
|small details for the specific audience or situation, but 90% or more
|of the material is written and rehearsed beforehand. There are rare
|talents that can absolutely do 100% unscripted, unrehearsed, on-the
|spot comedy, but most will tend to recycle bits in various ways so
|they're not completely in untested waters with a joke.
|u/Unworthy_Saint - 1 month

|u/ithilmor - 1 month
|
|Lee Mack is the king of wit. Even his teammates struggle to keep up.
|u/petityankee - 1 month
|
|How crowd work usually works is that you have a set of jokes that
|apply to different situations. I was a server at a club. One guy had a
|joke whenever he saw a lesbian couple “Where did you guys meet? Home
|Depot?” Same thing every single night. He probably has a joke just in

|point you already made.
|u/iceman012 - 1 month

|Aries Spears, the dude who was accused of molestation and made a creepy

|u/__zagat__ - 1 month
|
|> On August 30, 2022, Haddish and fellow comedian Aries Spears were
|sued for alleged grooming and sexual abuse of two minors. According to
|the lawsuit, the children were recruited to film several comedy skits
|and were asked to perform sexually suggestive content. Tiffany
|Haddish's attorney, Andrew Brettler, released a statement saying the
|lawsuit had no merit.[80][81][82] >Haddish responded in an Instagram
|post stating that she deeply regretted agreeing to act in a skit that
|she said was meant to be comedic but was "not funny at all".[83]
|Several weeks later, "Jane Doe" filed to have the charge against both
|Haddish and Spears dismissed with prejudice, stating, "My family and I

|Why should the goal be not to see color? There are different
|cultures even in single countries. The history of America is one

|There's definitely an art to it and I appreciate clips like this where
|someone can do it well. Some comics don't know when to move on when
|they're clearly humiliating someone and making them uncomfortable. On
|one hand, you kind of know what you may be in for when you go to see a
|comic who does crowd work and sit close to the front, but some comics
|take jabs that don't need to be thrown and go too far. A comic who's
|really good at crowd work will pick up on that and move on.
