|Conservative Judge, J. Michael Luttig, January 6 Testimony: “Almost two
|years after that fateful day … Donald Trump and his allies and
|supporters are a clear and present danger to American democracy. That’s
|not because of what happened on January 6. It is because to this very
|day the former president and his allies and supporters pledge that in
|the presidential election of 2024, if the former president or his
|anointed successor as the Republican party presidential candidate were
|to lose that election, they would attempt to overturn that 2024 election
|in the same way that they attempted to overturn the 2020 election, but
|succeed in 2024 where they failed in 2020.”

|Just like Hitler and the Nazis. Tried a coup failed, just got finger
|waved and then next year they made sure to get it right. History will
|repeat itself if we allow it. MAGAs are the new NAZIs. Edit: I meant
|next time not next year. Also seems I touched some MAGA nerves. By
|all means when your members who support your party that are full blown
|nazi members marching around some city’s cause they feel emboldened by
|your dear diaper don, then you have don’t have any arguments here.
|Edit2: I’m not calling all republicans that, I’m calling the MAGA cult
|following, dear leader can do no wrong, weird Ramboisc pictures of him
|half naked all ripped. They are the new NAZIs as they’re showing all
|the signs of people wanting to install a Fascist government are. So go
|kick rocks if you want to try that argument.
|u/EmmaLouLove - 1 month
|
|Yes, this is correct. Just as Trump’s attempt to stop the peaceful
|transition of power on January 6, the Nazis had a failed coup d'état
|in 1923. They were not held accountable, and in 1933, Hitler came
|into power. Similar to conservatives’ Project 2025, the Nazi’s
|Enabling Act of 1933 allowed the Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, to bypass
|the system of checks and balances in the government. As John Oliver
|explained in a segment on Project 2025, Republicans’ plan for the
|separation of powers is a game of rock, paper, scissors, except rock
|crushes paper and scissors every single time.

|unfortunately, the MOST religious people are somehow the people

|I wonder how the idea of faith, belief in something without
|evidence invented by religion to control people while they are
|having all the value of their labor stolen from them while
|education is demonized could be used for evil purposes? Its
|not anomalous its a part of the plan.
|u/ralphvonwauwau - 1 month
|
|Faith is superior to evidence. Once you buy into that idea,
|you'll be able to believe anything. After all, the latest
|claim has the same evidence as the last one. If it seems more
|outrageous, well that's because your faith is weak and you
|need to build it up. After a few iterations, it would be too
|embarrassing to admit you were hoaxed, so you double down, and
|call the leader's latest claim, "a test of faith."

|Well yeah, cuz religious people are the ones who worship.
|That's why they have this idea that worshipping anyone other
|than their respective god is blasphemy. They don't understand
|the mindset of people who don't worship anyone. So when a
|golden calf rears its head, in this case an orange head with
|terrible hair and a butthole for a mouth, the religious are
|the ones to blaspheme. They break their own ridiculous rules
|cuz they're the only ones that would even come up with said

|With how the Supreme Court has been stripping away voting rights
|and legalizing racial gerrymandering and preventing the 14th
|amendment from being enforced, it seems like they are currently
|the rock that crushes scissors and paper every time now. Because
|the only check on their power which is Congress which can remove
|them or expand the court has been neutered by the Supreme Court
|enabled racial gerrymandering of congressional districts and
|erosion of voting rights, which will ensure that there are never

|As sad as it is, your analogy is absolutely correct and Project 2025
|is the final solution from Göbels. The sadest on all this is that
|it was Trump who tried to steal the Election and this was confirmed
|by the Republicans Governors themselves including his VP who did not
|go along with stealing for him and later by the fake Electors who
|was caught, and after he failed to steal, he just sent his Moron
|Cult members to attack the Capitol. And on top of that the Orange
|moron still holds to the lie that he was robbed and the Fanatical
|Morons feel that the “Deepstate” is to blame for everything not
|himself and that he should not face the law for trying to steal the
|Election 2020 and attack the Capitol, no is just all a big “witch
|hunt” against poor Donald Trump and his “peaceful” MAGA morons. And
|ohh the poor J6 Mob was very peacefully demonstrating and was
|brutally attacked by the Police and they did nothing wrong, nothing
|at all, no one got hurt. And because stealing an Election and
|attacking the Democratic institutions in 2020 was so cheap, because
|literally nothing happened, they already promised to steal the 2024
|Election and they learned from 2020 how to do it correctly, did the
|Democrats learned how to prevent and defend from it? Yeahhh it
|seems a bad Joke but is actually the reality we are living in with

|It's INSANE. He literally tried to foster a coup/uprising and then
|sat back until it was clear it failed... then is like "okay, okay, go
|home...". ... and now people are going to vote for him... like, HALF
|THE COUNTRY is going to vote for a known traitor. The word traitor in
|this context is NOT hyperbole. It's the the German Beer Hall Putsch
|failed coup of 1923 and then turning around and voting for.... oh...
|oh goodness... is that where we are?? \~\~\~\~ (Apparently I've
|been banned so my "show me evidence" answer is here:
|capitol-attack-trump-coup-analysis) Those comparing grassroots BLM
|protests to a political coup attempt are being disingenuous. Illegal
|activities landed Trump in legal trouble, not "democrats trying to
|throw someone in prison". Pretending 'both sides' here is an
|incorrect telling of reality. Kamala has stopped "lock him up" chants
|with "beat him in the ballot box"... Trump encouraged a "lock her up"
|narrative. Telling someone they no longer have your support and thus
|they step down because they don't believe they can win... Is very
|different from a coup.

|I just want to chime in with something a lot of people might not
|think about, and it matters an awful lot. In a lot of places,
|registered Republicans are showing up to vote more than Democrats.
|Democrats are not as good about showing up to the polls. One thing
|that I've seen with the pivot to Harris/Walz from Biden/Harris is
|some actual hope that they can win. I'd like to think more people
|are going to show up for the actual presidential vote now than they
|would have if it was Biden in the top spot, and I hope that is
|enough to make up for the ones who simply don't vote at all. I'm
|from California, and it's pretty much a lock for Harris, but there
|are other states that can flip from previous close-votes to blue if
|some people, like the younger crowd, show up to vote. The apathy
|toward voting by a lot of Democrats seems to be a lot stronger than
|Republicans, and that needs to be addressed. I think the pivot to
|Harris was a part of this, and I am thankful that the Democrats
|actually stepped up to do it. IMO they're too passive, and playing
|the good guy isn't going to win. Here are some links with some
|information about voting that some people might find interesting:

|It’s not half the country. It’s half the voting population. Which is
|less than half the country to begin with. It’s more like 25% of the
|country is voting for him. Which is still insane, but to put that
|into context, in 1940 only 53% of the population thought we should
|**not** allow Nazi Germany to keep Czechoslovakia in exchange for
|peace, and 63% thought we should **not** allow them to keep Poland
|in exchange for peace.
|[Source.](https://news.gallup.com/vault/265865/gallup-vault-opinion-
|start-world-war.aspx) Meaning, half the country was willing to make
|a deal with Nazis to get them to stop the war. Never mind the fact
|that appeasement (which is what this effectively was) had been
|proven to be wholly ineffective at stopping German expansion, and
|was already well-known to be one of the major causes of WWI. Never
|mind the fact that France fell to the Nazis in May 1940. Never mind
|the fact that Hitler was objectively and obviously insane. So if

|Just watched "4 hours at the capitol" on HBO. The shaman got on a
|loudspeaker and started yelling at the crowd that Trump wanted them
|to vacate the building and go home, they refused to leave, stayed on
|the capitol for a while until officers started arriving from
|Virginia. Once the police force started to grow in numbers they
|started pushing them back until they got all of them out. To be
|honest I don't think the storming of the capitol was very well

|building was overrun but then there was no next step. Like they

|They will not storm the Capitol this time. But they have already

|specifies a fallback of one vote per state in the House. Which the
|Republicans would win, because there are so many low-population red

|majority-steal-presidency-trump-00021780 It is true. MAGAs are
|replacing even Republican election workers in swing states like
|Georgia, where they would be able to refuse to certify election
|results for that state, basically cancelling that state's
|electoral votes. If Harris can't make it to 270 electoral votes
|by early January, including if it's just because a MAGA election
|worker won't certify some votes in a few states like Georgia,
|House Republicans get to pick the president, that's just how it
|works. Now, do you trust House Republicans to do the right
|thing, or this current Supreme Court to check them? Our

|January 6 was not just a violent act of Trump supporters beating

|What bothers me more than anything about all of this is I believe he
|will never suffer the consequences for Jan 6 & because he knows that, I
|fear what happens when he loses this November. They are already setting
|it up that if he loses, it’s because the Dems cheated. Already said
|almost same as last time that he will accept the results if he wins. I
|remember watching this and it was surreal. My son was at a customers
|home & called me (something he’d never do) and asked if I was seeing it.
|Told me he was watching with his customer. I remember crying, thinking
|this couldn’t be real. Don’t think I turned off the tv until well after
|midnight. My Mom was dying at the time & had hospice at my parent’s
|home. I called her & asked if she was okay. She didn’t know it was
|happening, asked her nurse to put on ABC & she let out a scream. I’d
|only heard my Mom do that 2 other times. When the second tower was hit
|and when my oldest sibling passed. The hardest part is my Dad, the
|sweetest man on earth who literally gave the coat off his back to
|someone, became a trumper. Fell down the QAnon rabbit hole & I couldn’t
|figure out how or why. Got so much worse after my Mom passed & found out
|on the phone with him one day that he was taking “new” medication that
|he said was for his stomach. It was for dementia & not early onset. My
|youngest sibling never told me. Made much more sense. Now, we don’t
|speak or we speak sporadically, when I can get up the nerve. I’m a
|“commie liberal” to him most days now. My idiot sister is seriously low
|IQ - the type the Felon loves & voted for him both times. Actually told
|me that Biden was going to end the DRN & guns would be illegal. Asked
|her if she meant the NRA or the DAR - told her the Daughters of the
|American Revolution nor the National Rifle Association would be illegal
|under Biden. Also, asked her why she would care since she’s never owned
|a gun?!?! Suffice it to say my family is splintered & since the loss of
|my Mom & older brother I don’t speak to majority of my family. I blame
|the Felon, Fox, Newsmax & all these people that know this never happened
|but followed Trump like he was the second coming. I truly hope he is
|defeated with such a large margin that it can never be construed as
