SMOLNET PORTAL home about changes
# Monday
Wow, well, I submitted Data Center to Asimov's late
last week. They said it would take up to five weeks to
hear back, so I was ready to just sit back and forget
it. But damned if I didn't get a personal email back
on Sunday afternoon already!!
They didn't want the story. I didn't think they would
take my first submission in more than 20 years. But
shit if you don't shoot you won't score. Is that a
sports metaphor?
BUT WHAT AN HONOR, the main editor of Asimov's read my
story and wished me good luck and thanked me for being
a reader and signed her own real name at the bottom.
How cool!!!!

I am waiting for feedback on BUGS. Only a few people
have read the entire thing, and so far I've only got
some uncritical compliments. I am glad people like it,
but definitely want to give it bake time.
I am not sure how I want to release that one. Put it
online free again? Put it in a book first? Or an
ebook? I was even thinking it could be fun to put all
three stories together into a thicker book...
But meanwhile I have the inkling for another story
about someone shot into space to mine asteroids
against his will, left with nothing but an extremely
overly sensitive sexbot as a companion. LOL.

My job is a weird sick and not funny joke. I mean, I
guess that is fine? I'm glad I was so productive
independently for two decades before signing onto this
slowly, slowly, slowly sinking ship.
