After a few - no, a lot - of snags and bugs and corner cases and compromises: #Novell #NetWare 4.2 (which is really 4.11 with some make-up) for OS/2 running on a 486DX50 EISA-based machine. Networking is by a pair of 100Mbit network cards (one for each kernel personality), while main file storage is on a #ZuluSCSI connected to an Adaptec 2742-controller.For the occasion I also built a new "rack", with dedicated console for the machine. Next up - #IPX-ify all my #DOS machines :D#retro #retrocomputing #supervisorhero fake (NULL) 0 i fake (NULL) 0 1Post #AkMK5lw0HmrLhGo64W by ltning /notices/AkMK5lw0HmrLhGo64W pleroma.anduin.net 70 i1 likes, 0 repeats fake (NULL) 0 i fake (NULL) 0 i@VulcanTourist What kind of nudge are we talking about? How about the promise of immense satisfaction once you get that first client connected? ;)All I can say is "go for it" - and maybe we can kickstart a new world order - where everyone speaks IPX/SPX? :D Ping me if you run into trouble or need advice..but hurry while my memory is still fresh...Also, what kind of VLB interface cards? Network? I'm only aware of the BOCALan, with an AMD 10Mbps chip on it - which is a massive waste of a VLB slot, not to mention the card/drivers are absolute garbage.. fake (NULL) 0 .
