In my dreams last night: I'm somewhere in the Hills, looking for someplace to eat. It could be Hot Springs, it could be Deadwood or Spearfish. I descend into a subterranean structure intended for some industrial purpose and see a restaurant. I go inside. It's an odd hour - too late for lunch, too early for dinner. I reminisce to wait staff about my time as a line cook in Illinois. I assure them I know restaurant work is often difficult. #MyDreamJournal |

I feel exhausted from terrible sleep, groggy from antihistamines, and my chronic facial pain is bad - like some massive cave hyena from the ice age has been chewing on my face. I am without energy, and my IQ has been cut in half. This is what happens when I attempt THC-less sleep. |

I think it's pretty fucking tone-deaf to yell at me to "vote!" when I express anxiety about the upcoming election. I live in one of the reddest states in the country and every year make a conscious decision to vote against christofascists and their causes. I vote for the restoration of women's sovereignty over their own bodies and for cannabis legalization. Every. fucking. time. None of the democratic candidates will win, none of the ballot measures I vote for will pass. |

It's really just people in urban, politically blue/purple states and regions telling me I just need to vote harder, or that my state's reactionary state legislatire and governor are my fault somehow, or that I should have some way of unbrainwashing my older, maga cultist relatives into voting as progressives. This is something I have zero control over. Dont fucking yell at me to vote; I already have. Because of the electoral college, my vote for president will not matter -at all-. |

It reminds me of people in Europe who have zero understanding of how big the American West is telling me I should just get an e-bike to get around. Really? If I need to get to Cheyenne or Missoula for a family emergency, I should just hop on an e-bike and that will totally work? Do you have any idea how far I have to travel to get to a city with more that 100,000 people? The finger-wagging in the fediverse really pisses me off sometimes. |

@TheLastOfHisName We are all doing what we can. I voted a straight blue ticket because I know that's what everyone has to do. But my state basically has unchecked one party rule and that isn't changing any time soon. It's that way for a lot of us. The electoral college really might install a dictator even after he loses the popular vote. |
