Palm IIIx battery saga continues

I tried  to replace  the batteries  yesterday. As  you might  know this
machine behaves unusually during this  operation. So I was curious what
will happen this time.

I replaced the  batteries in steps. This time everything  looked well -
no immediate reset nor infinite loop.

There was just one  issue. The machine was after full  reset so the RAM
was empty and all data and settings were gone!

It was a good idea to do full backup just before this battery change...

In other hand it  seems to me that battery life  of the PSION Organiser
II is a problem, too. I am  re-charging its 9V battery way to often now
but I an not using this device more often than before.
