The HotLine protocol is a communication protocol designed |
for peer-to-peer file sharing and messaging. It was |
developed in the mid-1990s by Hotline Communications, |
a software company based in Canada. HotLine protocol |
provides a platform for users to connect and share files |
directly with each other, without the need for a central |
server. It allows users to create private chat rooms, share |
files, and even search for specific files within their |
network. The protocol also supports features like password |
protection, user authentication, and data encryption for |
secure communication. |

IRCplus 1.5 Fixed - IRC Server for Win32 [4 744 kb] |
application/zip |

A cult IRC server in the late 90s and early 2000s. Many |
big IRC networks used this solution. Perhaps it was |
popular primarily because of its simplicity and usability. |
In fact, all server settings are located in one window, |
in the form of a tree-like administrator menu. Unlike |
modern analogues, this solution also does not require |
you to endlessly dig into configuration files. And any |
computer from a trash or warehouse will do to run it. |

ICQ (ICQ Instant Messaging Protocol) is a real-time messaging |

protocol that allows users to communicate with each other over |
the internet. |
Mirabilis, the company behind the official ICQ messenger, |
filed a lawsuit against the developers of the Private ICQ |
Server 1.3.0.67. They viewed this server as a dangerous |

The Private ICQ Server v1.3.0.67 program allows users |
to create their own ICQ server instead of icq.mirabilis.com. |
It is designed for organizations with their own intranet |
network or groups of friends who want to communicate |
separately from the main ICQ server and do not want their |
messages to be read by "Big Brother". With this program, |
users can send messages, files, URL links, and utilize other |
functions available on the main ICQ server. |
Registration in ICQ Server is possible in two ways. Through |

WinGate runs on Windows NT or Windows 9x and provides |
proxy servers for Web, FTP, SMTP, POP3, SOCKS, Telnet, |
VDOLive, RealAudio, and Xing StreamWorks (XDMA) |

services. WinGate's proxy servers offer additional benefits |
such as caching, that improve overall network performance. |
The software also runs standard IP server services such as |
DNS and DHCP. These services are useful if you have |
a Win95-only network (NT includes DNS and DHCP servers). |
